Plant Reproduction

We are looking at reproduction in plants - as you will have seen by our work with cuttings. We are now looking at sexual reproduction and we’ve been investigating the parts of a flower and the roles of each part has. The subject is fascinating and the children all worked carefully on their dissection. A really fun and ‘hands on’ way to learn.

I Love Reading

We’ll done to all the winners, including 5BS’s winner, for the’I Love Reading’ poster competition. The quality of the entries was phenomenal, as ever!

Litter Pick

This week, we’ve been literally cleaning up the town! We’ve learnt so much from our Little Litter Picker guide and her guidance helped up learn about litter. Some classes were assigned to clean up the school site, but in year five, we carried out a litter pick of areas towards Hampton. I know the children got a lot from the day and they will always make the right choices around litter.

Teacher Swap

Mr. Forrester and myself have enjoyed reading to each other’s class today. I loved getting into role as grandma in George’s Marvellous Medicine. I do love the voices and a prop or two helped as well!

World Book Day

Thank you to all our parents in 5BS for helping to make the children look terrific in their outfits. It was great to see such a range too. We’ve had a lovely day, full of fun and excitement.

Book Buddies

We’ve kicked off World Book Week with our ‘Book Buddies’. We’ve loved sharing our books with children from a different year group. All the children were engaged because it’s always fun to share a book. And of course, we all love to be read to!

Spread Your Wings

Thank you year five for a marvellous year of fun and learning. We have had so much fun and you have many great memories to take away to you...
